Litter

notebooks half filled with doodles and poems
little mementos of memories passed
lanyards made because of the stress
litter my room in a violent mess

books about boys who want to be girls
and bottles of off-brand soda
sunglasses stolen straight from the shelves
litter my room like a life in themselves

clothes worn too many times
scrap papers filled with bad rhymes (like these)
empty cigarette packs i wish were full
litter my room in a cruel joke

walls that say “fuck” maybe 60 times over
holes in the sheets when i couldn’t handle
a thousand excuses for letting it go
litter my mind like a plague
